Providing Assistances: Rakhine State CM provided assistances for IDPs

Organized by the National Committee for Disaster Management, a ceremony for the third round of distribution of financial assistance and packets of instant noodles to internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by acts of terrorism, was held on August 7, at Khaing Thazin Hall in Sittwe, Rakhine State. The event was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, members of the State Government, departmental officials, staff assisting IDPs, and the displaced people themselves.

At the ceremony, the Rakhine State Chief Minister stated that today’s event marked the third round of assistance from the National Committee for Disaster Management to 12,716 IDPs across Rakhine State. A total of 762.96 million kyats was allocated for the months of April, May, and June 2025. He also mentioned that, from August 2024 to the present, the Rakhine State Government had already provided the assistances including 8,369 sacks of rice (24-pyi size) and 1,162 sacks (19-pyi size) for IDPs in Sittwe Township and 6,000 sacks of rice (24-pyi size) for IDPs in Kyaukphyu Township.

Following this, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, along with the Chief Justice of the State High Court and the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs, handed over financial aid and packets of instant noodles to the displaced staff and civilians.

Afterward, the Chief Minister and officials warmly greeted and engaged with the attending departmental staff, displaced workers, and displaced people.
