Providing Assistance: Rakhine State Government assists for IDPs

The 5th ceremony to provide cash assistance from National Disaster Management Fund to internally displaced person took place at Khaine Thazin hall in Sittwe Township on Thursday.

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and wife, who is the patron of State Women Affairs Committee, together with related officials attended the event. At the ceremony, cash assistance was provided to a total of 11,522 internally displaced persons for 3 months.

Starting from August 2024, Rakhine State government provided rice bags to IDPs within the state, umbrellas and stationary to basic education students and university students for 2025-2026 academic year, building IDP camps and basic infrastructures for IDPs and donated over 16.2 million kyats to the monasteries. The Chief Minister instructed for timely distribution of assistant cash to the IDPs and later presented cash assistance and cordially greeted the attendees and IDPs.
