Providing Assistance: MOHA Union Minister met victims of Insein Prison blast

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut visited Insein Prison in Yangon Region on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, an explosion occurred at the prison by a parcel bomb, leaving 8 persons died and 18 others injured.

Among the deaths included 3 staff and 5 civilians who came to send parcels to the inmates, while 5 staff and 13 civilians were among the injured.

The Union Minister and party met the families of the victims and injured staff and provided cash assistance.

The Union Minister held a security meeting with the officials from the prison and coordinated the requirements. The Union Minister and party later visited the Insein Township People’s Hospital and provided assistance to the victims.
