U.S. authorities investigating the murder of 20 people at an El Paso Walmart store said on Sunday they will seek the death penalty and are treating it as a case of domestic terrorism. El Paso district attorney said they will seek the death penalty for the suspect, Patrick Crusius, 21, of Allen, Texas. Police said the suspect opened fire with a rifle on shoppers and then surrendered to officers who confronted him outside the store.

El Paso Police Chief said the suspect was cooperating with investigators. Texas Governor said Saturday's rampage appeared to be a hate crime, and police cited a manifesto they attributed to the suspect as evidence that the bloodshed was racially motivated.
