Promoting Ethnic Culture & Tourism: Plans For Holding the 3rd Myanmar Ethnic Culture Festival

The Ministry of Ethnic Affairs organized a coordination meeting on Tuesday to hold the 3rd Myanmar Ethnic Culture Festival with the aim to promote the ethnic culture and tourism industry. At the meeting, Union Minister for Ethic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint highlighted holding of the 1st and 2nd festivals in 2019 and 2020 respectively. It was arranged to broadcast the 3rd Festival’s Virtual Reality via MRTV, NRC, Web portal and Facebook platform under the COVID-19 guidelines.

The Union Minister then stressed the need to give proper suggestions regarding the appropriate time to hold the Myanmar Ethnic Culture Festival 2021. He also discussed the proposed programs based on Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Bamar, Mon, Rakhine, Shan and six self-administered division/zones.

He instructed to operate the shows of respective ethnic people, video clips, regional documentary and community-based tourism. He also emphasized the interest and socio-economic status development of ethnic people, peace in ethnic regions, tourism industry development, promotion of local production sectors and other plans.
