Promoting Ecotourism: Lawka Nanda Wildlife Sanctuary Conducts Awareness

Ecotourism is being implemented in Lawka Nanda Wildlife Sanctuary in Naung U Township, Mandalay Region to create job opportunities.

The Wildlife Sanctuary has arranged for the visitors to take relaxation while enjoying natural scenic beauty, according to the warden of the Sanctuary.

ShweHtayAung, Warden, Lawkananda Wildlife Sanctuary said “Based on the Lawkananda Wildlife Sanctuary, the ecotourism is being implemented. For the visitors, we have arranged bird watching tower and the rest halls, aiming to promote ecotourism in the region and create jobs for the locals. The visitors will have to chance to closely observe the animals such as deer, samburs, peacocks and other animals that naturally inhabit there. From the ShukhinTha halls that are built near Ayeyawady river bank, the visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the river and TantKyi Hill. The water birds and migratory birds can be seen.”

According to the warden, the educative talks are conducted to the locals from nearby villages and they organize the talks three times a year.
