








The visiting Tatarstan President Mr Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov called on Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Aung Naing Oo in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.
The two sides also discussed enhancing economic cooperation and further implementing trade and investment prospects. It was followed by a Roundtable Talks between Myanmar and Tatarstan Business Circles, and the Union Minister explained Myanmar’s post-COVID-19 investment priorities and policies, investment facilitation measures, prospects for boosting investment and trade between Myanmar and Tatarstan.
The visiting President also discussed the implementation of joint ventures through new areas of bilateral economic cooperation, cooperation in vehicle repair work, including assembling and the possibility of holding bilateral business trips.
He also discussed the possibility of educating Myanmar students at higher education institutions in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Later, the ministers and deputy ministers of Myanmar and Tatarstan discussed opportunities for cooperation in onshore oil and gas exploration and production, motor vehicle assembling, fertilizer production, rice and pulses export and tourism development.
Afterwards, Myanmar Rice Entrepreneur Association and the JSC “RATSIN” from Tatarstan signed and exchanged two letters of Intent (LOI) for the export of Myanmar rice and agricultural products and the import of farm fertilizers and chemicals.
The LOIs could help increase the opportunities for rice and rice products export and expand cooperation in importing quality fertilizers required for Myanmar’s agricultural sector.
It was followed a networking session and by business persons from the two countries cordially exchanged views on further cooperation.
