Procession of Offertories Trees: Shan State CM and officials initiated the procession

In Taunggyi Town, Southern Shan State, the procession of the trees of offertories for the 75th City-Wide Maha Kathina Festival began on November 3rd at 8:30 AM. The procession started from Gathering Point (1) in front of the City Police Station on Bogyoke Aung San Road and from Gathering Point (2) in front of the Kham Li Jewelry shop on Merchant Road.

At the City-Wide Maha Kathina Festival offertories trees Procession, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and his wife, the Commander of the East Command and his wife, and other officials led the ceremony and initiated the procession of the offertories trees.

As the offertories trees were paraded, crowds of people lining the streets watched the vibrant and bustling event. The offertories trees were then conveyed to the City Center Dhamma Hall of the Atulamarazein Hsu-Taung-Pyae Buddha Image. It is reported that these offertories trees will be distributed to the monasteries throughout Taunggyi Township.

Subsequently, the State Chief Minister, his wife, and other officials proceeded to the Shan State Buddhist University in the Phayarphyu Ward of Taunggyi Township. There, they attended and paid respects at the ceremony for the 61st Birthday Alms Offering of the Chancellor of the Shan State Buddhist University, Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Dhammasami.

During the ceremony, the State Chief Minister and his wife, officials, and donors offered donated items and the cash donations to the Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Dhammasami, the Chancellor of the Shan State Buddhist University. It was learned that the presiding Sayadaw then presented certificates of honor in return.

On the evening of November 2nd, at the Aweyar Balloon Launching Ground for the fifth day of the 2025 Taunggyi Traditional Tazaungdaing Festival, the venue was filled to capacity. Visitors from near and far, local ethnic people, and attendees gathered in a lively and packed crowd, enjoying the festival and participating in the hot air balloon launch competitions.

On the fifth day of the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, State Ministers, the State Advocate General, the State Government Secretary, and other officials toured the festival, inspecting the food stalls, company pavilions, and festival market stalls.

Also, on the fifth day of the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival, local singers performed with contemporary music. The State Chief Minister, State Ministers, the State Advocate General, and other officials watched and cheered on the competitions for launching large night balloons and Sein-Na-Pan balloons.
