Information Team of the State Administration Council held a press briefing in Nay Pyi Taw on 12th June.
Leader of the Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained about the reopening of basic education schools, national registration process and citizenship scrutinizing procedures. He stressed that citizenship status has been granted in line with the rules and regulations of the existing laws concerning the immigration matter. He also made an explanation on changing of the financial year that plans are underway to designate the financial year period from April to March, citing the convenience of farmers for paying back agriculture loan. For the gazette holidays, reconsideration has been made for substitution holidays. He also explained the destructive acts by those who have attended the training for using arms and explosive devices in the area, controlled by EAOs.
The interview video clips of those who committed destructive acts and confessed their wrong actions were also screened during the press briefing.
It was followed by the explanation of member of the Union Election Commission (UEC) U Khin Maung Oo. He explained the voters list scrutinizing process and future work programs of UEC.
The journalists from local and foreign media organizations based in Myanmar also raised queries during the press briefing.
