











Press briefing on the Government's national level efforts on eradicating online scams took place in Yangon on Sunday. Leader of the Information Team of the National Defence and Security Council, Deputy Minister for Information Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun led the press, together with concerned officials.
The press focused on the government's efforts on combating online scam activities, operating in the border areas in cooperation with neighbouring countries and international communities. Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun also explained the government's stance and policy on these activities.
He stressed that the government assumed these activities as the National Security Threat since it could harm public trust on the government, damage the economic security and stir the national stability and tarnish the national dignity.
He added that the government will take effective action without giving any second chance with no personal and political protection. Since the issue was an international organized crimes, he said cooperation will continue with the international and regional countries.
He emphasized that the online scam activities are the serious crimes, and efforts will be made for eradication of these activities with Zero Tolerance Policy, using Aggressive Crackdowns Method. The Maj-Gen pledged to take responsibility for safety of the people while prioritizing to gain public trust, stressing that "Your Safety is Our Responsibility" and "Your Trust is Our Priority".
