Preparations: Union Minister Inspected Mandalay Int’l Airport

The Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing met with the staff members of the Immigration Department and the responsible officials fromt the Offices of Labour, Immigration and Population in Mandalay Region at the Mandalay International airport, Tatar-U Township on Thursday.

At the meeting, the union minister said the staff of the ministry has to serve the duty relating to the state security and give public service.

As local and international tourists increase after the airlines’ COVID-19 restrictions were eased, preparations should be made to operate immigration tasks in a comprehensive manner. This includes obtaining necessary machines and equipments, completing maintenance and carrying out self-capacity building. Officials need to supervise to comply with the directives of COVID-19 prevention and control.

Next, the officials clarified the status of local and international airlines, the arrivals and departures of local and international tourists, work implementations during the COVID-19 and the requirements and the union minister coordinated naccesseries. Then, the union minister inspected the international departure counter, the Visa on Arrival counter, the server Room and the international arrival counter before giving concluding notes.
