



Central Committee for Organizing the Diamond Jubilee Union Day Ceremony in 2022 held the 1st coordination meeting on Thursday afternoon in Nay Pyi Taw.
In this meeting at the State Administration Council Chairman Office, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win stressed that the Diamond Jubilee Union Day will be celebrated on the 12th of February 2022 in accord with the five Union Day objectives on a grand scale in accord with the COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
He also said that the Panglong Conference was held in Panglong of Shan State on the 12th of February 1947 with the unification of the hilly and plain areas of ethnic national people led by national leader General Aung San for regaining the independence and sovereignty of the country - the Panglong Agreement emerged from the conference. All ethnic national people have been residing in regions and states with the spirit of Myanmar in unison from the time of their forefathers to date.
The Diamond Jubilee Union Day ceremony will help new generation youths remember the unity of ethnic nationals and forge the spirit of Myanmar. The Vice-Senior General stressed that as the latest variant Omicron COVID-19 virus recently emerged in the global countries, the Ministry of Health is making necessary preparations to fight against the virus.
As some changes may happen within two months ahead of the ceremony, arrangements should be made for holding the ceremony. The meeting continued with reports on preparations by officials of respective subcommittees and central committee members.
