






Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, together with officials, inspected the final preparations for the opening of the University of Agriculture and Livestock (Maubin) on November 1.
Officials reported on classroom and office arrangements, transfer of buildings and equipment, staffing, and budget matters.
The Union Minister said the university was established to expand agricultural and livestock education in the lower Myanmar, helping to produce skilled professionals for the country’s development. The university will begin its first-year undergraduate classes this academic year and gradually expand. Infrastructure upgrades, including roads, irrigation, and facilities, are being handled by departments under the ministry.
The Union Minister and party also inspected office buildings, classrooms, laboratories, libraries, dormitory construction sites, and sports grounds. He encouraged the teaching staff and administrative personnel and provided solar lamps to support their work. Preparation works are now nearing completion to ensure the university can open smoothly and on schedule.
