Preparations for Election: UEC, ASEAN Special Envoy and political parties meet

Chairman of the Union Election Commission (UEC) U Thein Soe met with the ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar Mr. AlounkeoKittikhoun at Yangon Region Government Office on Friday.
They discussed matters on preparation for holding free and fair election with Proportional Representation (PR) system, and implementation of registration of political parties. This was followed by a meeting between the UEC Chairman and members, the ASEAN Special Envoy and 42 registered political parties. The meeting focused on electoral matters and political party affairs.
