Preparation for Election : MEVM awareness event held in Linkhay Township

An awareness session and demonstration on the use of Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) was held at Darsate Village in Linkhay Township of Southern Shan State on August 22.

The event, organized by the Township Election Sub-Commission, aimed to educate the public on the MEVM system ahead of the 2025 Multi-Party Democracy General Election. Officials gave talks in both Myanmar and Shan languages, explaining the use of MEVM and preparations being made for the upcoming election.

Participants had the chance to try voting on the machine as a hands-on demonstration. The Linkhay Township Election Sub-Commission has been conducting MEVM training sessions across wards, village-tracts, government departments, and military units since July 23, and will continue in remaining areas.
