Pre Activities:16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is designated from 25 November to 10 December and the commemorative ceremony will be held on 25 November.

As the pre activities, the gender-based violence awareness activities will be conducted in the regions and states and freelancers for the article contest marking this ceremony are invited. The articles are written based on the theme of commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence entitled “Let’s work now to end violence against women”.

Deputy Director, Department of Social Welfare, Lay Lay Myint said "We have comprised a committee with representatives from Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, the Information and Public Relations Department, Myanmar Writers and Journalists Associations, the Department of Social Welfare and the Department of higher Education to analyze the articles and select the winners. The articles must be own idea. There are five prizes - first, second, third and two consolation prizes.  First, second and third prize winners will be awarded at the state level commemorative ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism Against Women violence and the two consolation prizes will be awarded at the regional level ceremony. "

The entries along with confession of own creation, name of contestant, citizenship scrutiny card number, 3 colored passport-sized photos, contact address, must be submitted to the Office of  the Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement not later than 10  November 2022. Entries must be submitted in person or through a post office or an email. The contest entries should summit before deadline and any incomplete or incorrect entries will be invalid.
