Power Sector Development: MoEP Union Minister meets Russian delegation

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han met a Russian delegation led by Senior Vice-President of the Russia-Myanmar Association for Friendship and Cooperation Mr Anatoly Bulochnikov at the Minister office in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

At the meeting, they talked about successful undertaking in multi sectors as a result of long-term friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Russia during 75 years, providing more assistance of Russia than before for the development of electric power sector in Myanmar, implementations between Heads of the two countries and signing the agreements, studying renewable energy and powered plants during the goodwill visits to Russia and formation of cooperative organizations, plans to cooperate in the projects from various energy resources by using water and wind energy in Myanmar, feasibility surveys to the proposed project sites, plan to make investments by Russia companies in the EV lithium battery manufacturing plants, prospects to cooperate with local companies from Myanmar in power sector projects, economic cooperation forms in electric power generation and selling and the ways for financial sectors.

Also present at the call were Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Zeya, departmental heads and officials of Russian Embassy and the Russia-Myanmar Association for Friendship and Cooperation.
