Poverty Reduction: Model village establishing project introduced in YwaThit village

With the aim of improving social standard and socio-economic life of rural people and narrowing rural development gap between urban and rural areas and exchange knowledge and experience among Mekong-Lancang member countries for rural development and poverty reduction, the model village establishing project on village-level poverty reduction was introduced in YwaThit village, Bago Region on 3rd December.

At the event, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe gave speeches and viewed opening of basic sewing course that is being undertaken. This project will be 2-year and will be implemented in YwaThit village in Bago Township by the Department of Rural Development with Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2022).

Later, the Deputy Minister arrived at water supply worksite in Bago and gave instructions on installation of more water meters, continuous operating and trial-running.From there, the Deputy Minister met the staffs from District and Township Level Department in the region and called for engaging among the departments for achieving policy, objective and aims of the ministry and fulfilled the needs.
