


The training course No.1/2022 on collecting ward/village location points for the formation of census plots and drawing map by applying the Geographic Information System (GIS) Technology for the 2024 population and household census to be implemented by the Ministry of Immigration and Population was opened in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.
Chairman of the Central Census Commission Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi said the nationwide census and household list was collected in 2014 and another project of census collection will be conducted in 2024.
As this work program is a national level project, the process has been implemented by drafting 4 work programs such as preparation, collecting and drafting list, analysis and publishing report since October 2021.
As the first step of drawing map and formation of census plots for the 2024 census, regarding the collection of ward/village location points, efforts will be made to approve the existing location points and to obtain more than 20,000 points that are not yet available.
To get ward/village location points with tablets, first, the training course No.1 for the township staff officers in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and staffs of the Department of Population will be conducted theoretically and practically.
After that, three training courses will be conducted in respective regions and states to obtain ward/village location points and the process will be carried out until October 2022. The Union Minister called for participants to carefully memorize the lessons taught in the course and apply them in the field to implement the census collection. A total of 26 township staff officers and staffs from the Department of Population in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory are attending the 4-day course.Â
