Polling stations open for Kuwait’s parliamentary elections

Polling stations opened on Thursday in Kuwait’s first election since Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah assumed power late last year.

Voters will select representatives from five electoral constituencies for the National Assembly’s 18th legislative term. The eligible voters will choose 50 members of parliament, from 200 candidates, who will serve a four-year term. The ballot boxes are located at 123 designated schools.
