PM Albanese on death of Australian in Seoul crush

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Monday called the deadly crush in South Korea that killed 153 people on Saturday a "tragedy."

One Australian was among the dead, and several other Australians were injured when a huge Halloween party crowd surged into a narrow alley in a nightlife district in Seoul on Saturday.

Albanese said officials know the identity of the deceased but were contacting the families before releasing that information. It remained unclear what led the crowd to surge into the downhill alley in the Itaewon area on Saturday night, and authorities promised a thorough investigation.
