Peruvians took to the streets of Lima on Thursday in support of Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra after he dissolved congress and called for new elections. Vizcarra stressed his decision was part of his constitutional powers and blamed lawmakers for repeatedly trying to block his anti-graft reforms.

And for the hundreds that marched on Thursday night, his move has widespread public support. Opposition lawmakers in a plenary session accused Vizcarra of overstepping the bounds of the constitution, and said they would seek to eject him on the grounds he was morally incapable of governing.
