Interim President of Peru Francisco Sagasti swore in his cabinet on Wednesday as the country's political crisis continued with three presidents having held office in two weeks.

Sagasti was a congressman until Tuesday when he was sworn in as president, replacing Manuel Merino who governed Peru during a week marked by protests against his government.

Merino took office after Martin Vizcarra, who was ousted by a vote in Congress under corruption allegations.
On the same day that Sagasti swore in his cabinet, union workers protested peacefully demanding new and better working conditions.
