Performing Arts Competitions: Acting President delivered the opening speech

The opening ceremony of the “26th Myanma Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions”, was held at Myanmar International Convention Center - I in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, with the attendance of the Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Prior to the event, they were welcomed by the traditional ethnic dances. Then, SSPC Vice-Chairman, Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Patron of the leading Committee Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, and Chairman of the organizing committee, Union Minster for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, opened the ceremony by cutting the ribbon.

Next, SSPC Chairman unveiled the commemorative signboard by pressing the electric button.

At the second part of the event, artistes from the department of Fine Arts, presented a song with a traditional dance.

Next, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman delivered an opening speech stating that, the new generation of artistes participating in the competition are expected to showcase their artistic talents, and that the competition serves as an opportunity for the artistes to demonstrate their abilities.

The Acting President also urged the sound and well-versed artistes, and officials to continue their contribution through their talents, to explore, preserve and enhance Myanmar’s national prestige, integrity and distinctive cultural heritage. And also to promote and exemplify the spirit of national solidarity and unity, thereby, handing down the traditional performing arts to the younger generation.

Following this, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, presented the preparations for the competition.

After the opening ceremony, the Acting President, the SSPC Chairman, Prime Minister and officials, cordially greeted the sound and well-versed artistes.
