Pension Affairs Support Training: MOPF UM delivered the opening speech

The opening ceremony for the Pension Affairs Support Training Course, organized by the Pension Department under the Ministry of Planning and Finance, was held at Ministry of Planning and Finance Office No. (34) in Nay Pyi Taw on February 9.

Union Minister for Planning and Finance Dr. Kan Zaw attended and delivered a speech. In his speech, the Union Minister stated that the State is working to develop a sustainable and equitable pension system to bring about a National Pension System. Efforts are being made to reform the existing pension system through Parametric Reform within the existing framework and to transition to a Systemic Reform based on pension funds.

Necessary laws are also being enacted to establish a Central Provident Fund for civil servants. He emphasized that pension-related documents and records are extremely important for retired civil servants, and therefore, the Record Keeping System should be systematically managed using advancing ICT technology.

He urged the trainees to carefully study, learn, and take note of the pension-related laws, by-laws, regulations, and procedures taught in the course, and to strive to become proficient in their work. It is reported that 60 officials and staff from offices under the Pension Department will attend this training course, which will last for 4 weeks. The Pension Department will continue to hold pension-related support training courses through both in-person attendance and online systems.
