Pearl Production: Union Minister Inspects Pearl/Oyster Farming

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi made inspections in Tanintharyi Region. At the pearl farming on DonePearlAw Island in Kyunsu Township, the Union Minister heard report on the farming process and stressed the importance of quality farming, environmenal impact assessment [EIA] and environmental conservation.

It’s learnt that the Myanmar Pearl Enterprise produced 128 percent of pearls in the fiscal year of 2021-2022, creating jobs for the locals. There, the Union Minister also provided 20 sets of solar panel for 2 Salo villages before inspecting the oyster farming process.

Also, he inspected the oyster farming process by the Surface Long Line System on NatTaMee YayDwin and PyinSaBu islands in Kyunsu Township.

In Bokpyin Township, the Union Minister inspected pearls production processes on DoMal Island and oyster farming on ZinYaw Island.
