









Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received the peace delegation led by Chairman of Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) General Yawd Serk at the Bayint Naung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
At the meeting, the Senior General said that the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) was the first group that came to discuss the new step for peace during assuming the state responsibilities by the SAC.
The Senior General explained the good results that could be implemented in the 1st discussion, practicing a genuine multi-party democratic system, endeavouring for building a Union based on democracy and federalism as a political goal, further implementation for peace process based on the 2008 State Constitution and the NCA.
Later, the RCSS Chairman and party reported on peace, development, their views on practicing federalism, elimination of armed conflicts and terrorism and future work programs. In response to the reports, the Senior General discussed the importance of the country's geographical condition, practicing the foreign policy in conformity with the country, the conditions that need to be implemented only the federalism that is compatible with the country's geographical condition, national character and culture although there are many countries in the world practicing democracy and federalism, promoting education sector for the human resource development to implement for the state progress and measures for development of ethnic areas.
They also exchanged views on peace issues and regional development affairs. After the meeting, the Senior General and the RCSS Chairman exchanged commemorative gifts.
The peace delegation led by the RCSS Chairman will continue to hold peace talks with the Peace Talks Team formed by the State Administration Council and the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee.
