Peace Process: 2 EAOs Arrive In Nay Pyi Taw For Peace Talks

Delegations from Ethnic Armed organizations (EAOs) arrived in Nay Pyi Taw from Hpa-An of Kayin State on Wednesday afternoon for the second round of peace talks, at the invitation of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, aiming to achieve eternal peace in the entire country and to end armed conflict. On arrival at the Horizon Lake View Resort in Nay Pyi Taw, a delegation led by Vice-Chair of the KNU/KNLA-PC Dr. NawKapawHtoo and another delegation led by Commander-in-Chief Saw Steel of the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army-DKBA were welcomed by members of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee and ethnic people from the Department of Culture holding the miniature State flags and placards bearing “Perpetual Peace is the real aspiration of the people”, “Achieving peace is the true desire of all citizens”, “Let’s hold talks for peace in the Union” and “Only the ethnic nationalities are in unity, stability, peace and tranquility will be achieved”. 

It’s reported that during the second round peace talks, the Ethnic Armed organizations can make discussions openly regarding their political will and future processes.

The EAOs which have not attended the peace talks yet are also invited to hold peace talks without prior restrictions under any circumstances.
