Paying Homage: SAC Chairman Paid Homage Mahamyatmuni Buddha Image

The Chairman of State Administration Council, commander in chief of defense services, senior general Min Aung Hlaing together with Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, members of SAC, union ministers, chairman of Mandalay Region administration, commander in chief (Navy), senior Tatmataw officials from the office of commander in chief, commander of central command and officials paid homage to the Mahamyatmuni Buddha image which is the landmark of Mandalay city in the morning on Tuesday.

First, the SAC chairman and members were greeted by the chairman of Mahamyatmuni Buddha image board of trustee U Soe Lin and members. Next, the flowers, water, candle lights and gold leaves were offered to the Mahamyatmuni Buddha image. Then, the SAC chairman signed on the guest book and donated cash for the all-round development works and the chairman of board of trustee accepted the donation and presented the certificate of honor.

Afterward, the SAC chairman and party observed the status of renovated pillars and ceilings, bronze statue museum and historic painting exhibition and instructed to preserve the archeological historic works, to conserve the palm leaves inscriptions including Tipitaka and the life story of the Buddha by copying them drawing the program and be careful to have correct Myanmar spelling and other necessaries to the pagoda board of trustee.

In the afternoon, the SAC chairman and party visited Thitagu International Vipassana University in Sagaing hill, Sagaing Region and paid homage to the chancellor of Thitagu World Buddha University and Thitagu charity hospitals, joint head of Shwe Kyin Sect Dr. Baddanta Nyanissara.

Next, the SAC chairman and members observed five precepts administered by the Sayadawgyi, listened to the sermon and shared the merits gained. Then, the SAC chairman, wife and members offered the offertories to the Sayadawgyi and the latter returned the Dhamma gifts to them, it’s learnt.
