Paris Olympic Bell at Notre-Dame

The iconic bell from the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, soon to be installed at the Notre-Dame Cathedral, has been presented ahead of the historic building’s reopening to the public next month. Reconstruction work has been continuing on the cathedral since its roof and spire suffered major damage in a large fire in 2019.

The bell was used at the Stade de France during track and field events at the 2024 Games. It was shown to the media and others on Thursday at a ceremony in front of the cathedral. The bell attracted attention when gold medalists rang it during the Games. It bears the inscription “PARIS 2024.”
