Paraguay's President and Venezuela interim leader revive diplomatic ties

Paraguayan President Santiago Peña met with Venezuela's acting President Delcy Rodríguez in Caracas on Saturday, to advance the normalization of bilateral relations. Both nations’ foreign ministers signed a joint statement aimed at progressively restoring ties after a 20-month diplomatic rupture that began in January 2025.

Discussions touched upon on re-establishing institutional contacts, strengthening the economy, trade, consular services, financial issues, and jointly fighting transnational organized crime.
