Panic buying in Nigeria as Tinubu declares end to fuel subsidy

Long queues outside petrol stations as Nigerians rush to fill up their tanks following the newly elected Nigerian president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu's announcement that the subsidy payment on fuel will come to an end.

As per his speech the 2023 Budget has made no provision for a fuel subsidy. "Increase fuel price everything Nigeria goes up" says one civil servant interviewed outside a crowded petrol station.
