


Chin State COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee held its work coordination meeting at the State Government office in Hakha on Wednesday.
At the meeting, Chin State Chief Minister Dr Wong HsunHtan said that the COVID-19 Omicron variants are found in the returnees from abroad and in recent days, it has been observed that there is the outbreak of local transmission on Covid-19. As the injection of the vaccines can be reduced the outbreak, severe cases and the death rate, it needs to striving for administering full doses of vaccines to all aged 5 years and above in the State and booster doses to people aged 18 years and above who have completed vaccination within 6 months.
He also stressed on conducting awareness on COVID-19 and cooperation among the departments. Officials reported on preventive and control measures, completion of vaccination against COVID-19 to students and people, availability and use of COVID-19 vaccines by respective townships and the rest list, conducting mask campaigns, awareness programs and future plans.
In response to the reports, the State Security and Border Affairs Minister and the secretary of the State Government supplemented to the reports on issuing the mask campaigns in a timely manner, wearing masks, social distancing, following COVID-19 rules and regulations as well as COVID-19 prevention and control measures. The State Social Affairs Minister also reported on completion of Pan Khin project and data entry process of household list form 66/6 on which the State Chief Minister and the Deputy Commander of the North-West Command coordinated essentials.
