Fu Bao, the first giant panda born in the Republic of Korea (ROK) and returned to China, is set to meet the public on June 12, according to the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.
After arriving in Sichuan Province in April, Fu Bao has been living at the Shenshuping giant panda base in Wolong National Nature Reserve. Born in July 2020, Fu Bao quickly became an online sensation in the ROK. Panda cubs born abroad typically return to China between ages two and four to prevent inbreeding. Following her return, ROK travel agencies introduced “panda tourism” packages to Sichuan.
