



Yangon Region achieved the exceeding target of issuing the National Registration Card under the PanKhin Project.
The Region targeted to issue over 710,000 NRC cards during the one-year project period, and it could achieve over 102%.
Deputy Head, Immigration and Population Department (Yangon Region), Yin Tun said “Pan Khin project was started to carried out in in 45 townships of Yangon Region on 3rdMay 2021 and finished on 27th May 2022. We have issued more NRC cards than we planned, so the completion of the issuance of NRC cards within Yangon Region is 102.99%.”
The Ministry of Immigration and Population carried out Pan Khin Project across the country to ensure every citizen is able to hold citizenship scrutiny cards in accordance with the law.
PanKhin Project is being carried out for 18 months period from May 2021 to November this year. As of July, Bago and Ayeyawady Regions, Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Taninthayi and Magwe Regions and Rakhine and Mon States have completed its targets. Yangon Region ranked 9th in exceeding the targeted plan of issuing NRC cards.
Head, Immigration and Population Department (Taikkyi Township), Aung Min Htwe said “The completion of the issuance of NRC cards within our township is 100%. The process has been carried out based on four categories of residency conditions.”
Head, Immigration and Population Department (Ahlone Township), Soe Naing said “Ahlone Township has over 50,000 people and we could issue more NRC cards than we planned before the target date.”
The Phase-2 of PanKhin Project is scheduled to carry out for 17 months from 4th November this year to 31st December 2023to issue NRC cards for every 18 years old citizen. It is learnt that the Phase-2 of the project will commence on 1st August, 4 months ahead of the scheduled date.
