Pan Khin Project: The project to be implemented in Shan State (North)

The Ministry of Immigration and Population is implementing Pan Khin Project for every citizen to bear a suitable card in line with the qualification to be a citizen and every eligible citizen to be able to vote in the elections to be held in the future.

Pan Khin Project has been implemented within 18 months period and the target has been met in the townships in Shan State (North) apart from “Wa” special region.

From now on, the on ground tasks to issue the household population list and citizen card with Pan Khin Project stage (2) in “Wa” Special Region will be carried out thanks to the coordination of the regional authorities and ethnic leaders from “Wa” Special Region, said, the Union Minister U Myint Kyaing in the meeting with service personnel from the ministry who will be serve the on ground duty in “Wa” Special Region to scrutinize the citizenship with Pan Khin Project, at the state deputy head officer’s office in the morning on 17th November.   

Next, the union minister instructed necessaries to the service personnel from the ministry regarding with the task in detail.

Then, the commander of North-East Command Ma-J Gen. Naing Naing Oo clarified to coordinate with the local organizations in carrying out the task with Pan Khin Project and to avoid undesirable administrative matters and the service personnel including

Next, the Union Minister provided cash assistance for the personnel who will carry out the task in the “Wa” Special Region by handing to the deputy director U Myo Nyunt.

After the meeting, the union minister and commander inspected the documents and form sheets and facilitate items to be brought to use in the on ground works of Pan Khin Project in “Wa” Special Region and enjoyed lunch together with the service personnel.

In the afternoon, the union minister U Myint Kyaing met with the Chairman of “Wa” Self-Administered Division U Nyi Nut, Chairman of Kokang Self-Administered Zone U Myint Swe, Chairman of Palaung Self-Administered Zone U Tar Thein Zaw, Wa liaison office in-charge U He Lu, departmental officials consisted in the five some committee related to citizenship scrutinizing, state, district and township head officers of the ministry of immigration and population in Shat State (North) at Shwe Li Hall in Shwe Li Yeiktha of North-East Command.

At the meeting, union minister explained the necessary arrangements to be held by the regional responsible persons and organizations for the successful implementation of Pan Khin Project in the self-administered division and zones in Shan State (North).

Then, the chairmen of self-administered division and zones clarified the matters to collaborate to be able to compile the correct voters list and the required regions and plans to be implemented and the plans to be fulfilled by the regional authorities and the union minister coordinated necessaries and cordially greeted the attendees, it’s learnt.
