Overseas Employment Agencies: MOEAF selected new Executive Committee Members

Myanmar Overseas Employment Agencies Federation (MOEAF) selected new Executive Committee members. Union Minister for Labour U Myint Kyaing attended the ceremony of selecting the EC members in Yangon on Sunday.

The Union Minister said the federation needs to make close supervising on the licensed oversea employment agencies in collecting the service fees. He called for cooperative efforts of the work committees for successful implementation of the tasks.

It was followed by the selecting of the EC members through the voting system, and the selected members were announced. The MOEAF was established in November 2012, and the Executive Committee was formed with 25 members.

Nine Work Committees were also formed for systematic implementation of the tasks. As of 1st February 2021, there were 314 licensed agencies.

From February 2021 to 14th July this year, 29 agencies have been issued licensed, and at present, altogether 343 agencies are engaging in the sending of workers to the foreign countries officially. 

The Union Minister and party later visited Thilawa Industrial Zone in Thanlyin Township, and inspected the chosen site for construction of Social Security Clinic for the insured workers from 434 work sites from the industrial zone.
