Musicians gathered on a central square in Ukraine's capital Kyiv for a short classical concert performance in a show of support for their country's struggle against the Russia military operation.
Around 20 members of the Kyiv-Classic Symphony Orchestra who have remained in the capital played in the bitter cold Wednesday afternoon.
As well as the Ukrainian national anthem and some popular folk tunes, they played the European Union anthem, Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy'. One of the musicians said they hoped their performance would show Ukraine was "not giving up" in the face of the conflict and remained a "proud" and "free" nation.
