Opening training: Medical assistant training opened in Dawei

The opening ceremony of training for pharmacist (Grade-4, compounder) and inspector (Grade-4 medicines record) was held at the meeting hall of region Public Health Department, Dawei Township, Taninthayi Region in the afternoon on September 5.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister U Myat Ko said that the Ministry of Health, Department of Medical Service has appointed the compounders, inspectors and X-ray technicians that are the medical assistants as permanent and daily wages staff for the hospitals across the country during the August.

The role of the medical assistants are important in the implementation for progress of healthcare coverage, uplifting medical service quality of the people’s hospitals and the development of private healthcare industry in line with the health policy of the state etc.

Next, the head officer of region medical service department Dr. Aung Ngwe San clarified regarding the training. Totaling 19 medical compounders and 7 medicine record inspectors attend the training in Dawei Township and 15 X-ray technicians attend the training in Myeik Township.

The training will take place for 6 months and the chief minister provided rice for the trainees, it’s reported.
