Opening of NSA Convocation Hall: Acting President inaugurated the hall

The opening ceremony for the Convocation Hall (Multi-purpose Hall) at Naypyitaw State Academy in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, was held in the morning of February 10.

Acting President Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended, inaugurated the hall, and delivered an address. First, upon the Acting President SSPC Chairman's arrival at Naypyitaw State Academy, responsible officials welcomed and greeted him.

The Acting President SSPC Chairman, along with Commission members, toured and encouraged the displays at a traditional ethnic food sale. Afterwards, the opening ceremony for the Naypyitaw State Academy Convocation Hall (Multi-purpose Hall) was held. Commission Vice-Chairman Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Commission member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, and Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant cut the ribbon to open the ceremony. Subsequently, the Acting President SSPC Chairman pressed the button to unveil the commemorative plaque for the Naypyitaw State Academy Convocation Hall (Multi-purpose Hall) and the plaque was sprinkled with scented water.

Following that, they toured inside the Naypyitaw State Academy Convocation Hall (Multi-purpose Hall) and the Acting President SSPC Chairman gave necessary guidance regarding the presentations by responsible officials. Then, the second part of the ceremony was held, where the female students from Naypyitaw State Academy performed the Naypyitaw State Academy song.

After that, the Acting President SSPC Chairman and attendees watched a documentary on the development of Naypyitaw State Academy. Then, the Acting President SSPC Chairman delivered an address. He stated that in the nation's capital, Nay Pyi Taw, the presence of Union-level buildings, modern urban living systems, and prestigious universities like Naypyitaw State Academy and Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University not only enhances the dignity and grandeur of Nay Pyi Taw but also shapes it into an educational capital for teaching modern knowledge.

The State is promoting the education sector to build a prosperous future with knowledgeable and skilled intellectuals. In line with this vision, Naypyitaw State Academy, meeting international standards, was established on November 9, 2022. This university is Myanmar's first comprehensive university, teaching a wide range of multidisciplinary subjects including arts, science, business, law, medicine, social sciences, diplomatic affairs, sports, and others.

The Acting President expressed great joy and pride that the Convocation Hall of Naypyitaw State Academy can now be grandly opened with exhibitions and festive celebrations. He expressed hope and belief that the graduates who will emerge annually from this convocation ground will become capable individuals whom the nation can rely on and who can shoulder the interests of the country and its people.

He expressed the wish that this great Convocation Hall will continue to produce outstanding intellectuals, well-equipped with knowledge and skills to match the world and with noble hearts, to build a better future society for Myanmar. Afterwards, the Union Minister for Education presented a commemorative gift for the opening of the Naypyitaw State Academy Convocation Hall (Multi-purpose Hall) to the Acting President SSPC Chairman.

Then, the Union Minister for Construction handed over the Naypyitaw State Academy Convocation Hall (Multi-purpose Hall) to the Union Minister for Education. Following that, the Union Minister for Education expressed words of thanks. Afterwards, students from the University of Culture and Arts (Yangon), singers from the Department of Fine Arts, renowned singers, and students from Naypyitaw State Academy performed with songs and traditional dance performances.

Subsequently, the Acting President SSPC Chairman presented flower basket of honor and awarded cash of honor to the students who performed, and warmly greeted them. After the ceremony, the Acting President SSPC Chairman and attendees toured the displayed job opportunity exhibition booths and gave necessary guidance on the presentations by responsible officials.

The Naypyitaw State Academy Convocation Hall (Multi-purpose Hall) building was constructed in accordance with the guidance of the Head of State. It is a 3-story reinforced concrete structure measuring 302 feet in length and 218 feet in width, with a total area of over 167,000 square feet. It was built as a multi-purpose hall with a capacity for 1,204 people, intended not only for convocation ceremonies but also for holding other events and performances, it’s reported.
