Opening Ceremony of Maternity Ward: Rakhine State CM attended the ceremony

The opening ceremony for the Maternity Ward belonging to the Rakhine State Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee was held in the morning of February 18 in front of the new building. The event was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, Daw Swe Swe Myat (Patron of the State Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee), along with the State Chief Justice, members of the State Government, the Chairperson and members of the Supervisory Committee, departmental officials, and invited guests.

During the ceremony, Patron of the State Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee Daw Swe Swe Myat expressed her deep gratitude to the Rakhine State Government for their support in successfully reconstructing and opening this new association-owned maternity ward.

The building was officially inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Patron Daw Swe Swe Myat, the Chairperson of the State Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, and other officials, followed by a collective documentary photo session.

Following the ribbon-cutting, attendees sprinkled scented water on the Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association emblem and signboard, toured and inspected the new maternity ward facilities, presented cash of honor to the students drum and bugle corps, pom-pom dance group, and aerobics team who participated in the opening ceremony.

In the afternoon, Chief Minister U Htein Lin attended a coordination meeting on the implementation and completion status of projects funded by the 2025–2026 Fiscal Year Rakhine State budget, covering both ordinary and capital expenditures, held at the State Government Office, it’s reported.
