NY Atty. General pledges Bronx fire investigation

New York State Attorney General Letitia James attended a vigil in the Bronx on Tuesday evening for the victims of a deadly apartment fire. Residents braved cold temperatures in New York City to remember the 17 people who died in Sunday's blaze, including three young children.

Attorney General, New York State, Letitia James  said "I will also use the law both as a sword and as a shield and get to the bottom of this fire, this horrific fire. Because there’s a lot of a lesson to be learned here in the Bronx."

 Flames damaged only a small part of the 19-story building, but smoke poured through the building after tenants fleeing the unit where the blaze began left the apartment door open behind them in their hurry to escape.
