Nutritional Week: Kachin State CM attended the event

The Kachin State Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee organized a nutritional cooking demonstration and competition, as well as a nutrition quiz for pregnant and lactating mothers to mark the Nutritional Weeks, held at the Manaw Shwe Pyi Hall within the collective office in Myitkyina on August 11th.

At the ceremony, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan gave an opening speech.

Next, Dr. Phyu Phyu Thant, head of the District Public Health Department, provided an educational talk on how pregnant and lactating mothers can cook and eat a nutritious and balanced diet. The Chief Minister, officials, and attendees then toured the hall, observing the ingredients and preparations for the nutritional cooking demonstration competition, which featured entries from different wards.

The Chief Minister and his wife, along with other officials, gave Vitamin A supplements and nutritious food to preschool children.

Following this, the patron of Kachin State Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, along with the chairperson and members, held the nutrition quiz for the pregnant and lactating mothers. They also observed and scored the mothers from various wards as they cooked nutritious meals, which were then served to the preschool children. Awards were presented to the winning wards of the cooking competition and to the winners of the nutrition quiz. Additionally, all pregnant and lactating mothers in attendance received nutritional support.
