Nutrition Development Weeks: Sagaing Region CM attended the event

The 2025 Region-level Nutrition Development Weeks Commemorative Ceremony was held at Chindwin Hall in Monywa, Sagaing Region on the morning of August 13. Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw attended and delivered the opening remarks.

In his speech, Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw stated that adequate nutrition is an important pillar for the development of every individual, every family, and the nation as a whole. He stressed the need to strengthen and accelerate nutrition development activities in line with this year’s theme “For a Bright Future for Children, Let’s Invest in Breastfeeding” beginning with breastfeeding and continuing with age-appropriate nutritional care. He urged everyone to work together and invest collectively in these efforts.

Next, the Patron of the Region Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, the wife of the Chief Minister, presented the first, second, and third prizes for the Model Mother Award, along with cash prizes, to the winners.

Following that, the Chief Minister and attendees watched a video clip titled “Let’s Eat Adequately During Pregnancy” in commemoration of the 2025 Nutrition Development Weeks, and took a group photo with responsible officials.

Then, the Chief Minister and officials gave vitamin tablets to children under the age of five from local preschools and presented them with commemorative gifts. The Patron of the Region Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee also presented micronutrient tablets and gifts to pregnant women.

After that, the Chief Minister and officials viewed photo displays documenting the activities of Nutrition Development Weeks, as well as exhibits of deworming medicines, micronutrient powders, and Phyuramin BC tablets arranged in the hall.
