Norwegians queued for hours to pay their last respects to the late King Harald. Several thousand people have already passed by King Harald’s coffin over the past few days. On Saturday, more people are waiting to get into Oslo’s Palace Chapel. King Harald V died on 28 August, at Oslo University Hospital, aged 89.

He had been hospitalized since 17 August with haemolyticanaemia, a condition involving abnormally rapid destruction of red blood cells that causes fatigue and shortness of breath. Harald was king from 17 January 1991 following his father Olav V’s death. His son, Crown Prince Haakon, automatically succeeded him as King Haakon VIII.
