North Korea International Trade Fair opens

North Korea International Trade Fair was opened with a ceremony at Pyongyang Indoor Gymnasium on Monday. At the opening ceremony, North Korean officials dutifully repeated their intentions to expand trade. The majority of the participants gathered at the trade fair opening ceremony were from China.

Chinese companies have long hoped to expand business into North Korea. Apart from Chinese companies, the Pyongyang International Trade Fair provides a way for local North Korean companies to promote their wares. Many North Korean companies are trying to sell medical, health care, and cosmetic products, to the local population. The Pyongyang International Trade Fair is always an example of how North Korea wants to keep its door open to trade.
