Health inspectors started screening passengers on Wednesday who are travelling to Nigeria's Lagos airport from China and other high-risk departure zones to tackle the threat of coronavirus. Deaths from China's new virus rose to 17 on Wednesday with more than 540 cases confirmed, increasing fears of contagion from an infection suspected to originate from illegally-traded wildlife. Lagos' airport manager said Nigeria, China's top trading partner in Africa, was more prepared to monitor outbreaks in airports after having set up passenger screenings for the Ebola epidemic in 2015.
