New Zealand on Monday reported nine new COVID-19 cases, including eight confirmed and one probable case. The country's Director-General of Health, Dr. Ashley Bloomfield, said that eight of the cases were detected in the community, linked to a cluster of infections in Auckland. The increasing number of confirmed and probable cases had reached to 1,683.
Bloomfield said that 151 people were linked to the Auckland cluster, and had moved into a quarantine facility. The outbreak in Auckland has prompted New Zealand's government two weeks ago to put the city under a two-week lockdown.
