
New Zealand on Wednesday announced five new cases of COVID-19. Ashley Bloomfield, New Zealand Director-General of Health, said there were three new community cases, one of which was under investigation, and two imported cases. The new figures take the country's total number of active cases to 134. Bloomfield also announced an increase in pop-up testing sites across Auckland this week and encouraged people, even those without symptoms, to get tested. New Zealand's Health Minister Chris Hipkins announced face coverings will be made mandatory on most forms of public transport following the identification of a case from transmission on a bus.
