New Year 2023: People in Yangon enjoy New Year Countdown

The New Year Countdown Festival was held at the People’s Square in Yangon on Saturday night.People in Yangon Region enjoyed the event with full of cheer and excitement for welcoming the 2023 Happy New Year.

For participants, charity foods including drinks and snacks as well as vegetable biryani by the Interfaith Friendship Organization were also served for free.

Secretary, Interfaith Friendship Organization, Tin Myint said "This is a donation by the Interfaith Friendship Organization, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association and Myanmar-India-China Friendship and Economic Development Association. We donated vegetable biryani for 13,000 people. This is making good deeds at the end of 2022 and for the beginning of 2023. I wish all the people good health, wealth and peace and be safe from covid-19."

Visitors said "We came here for Aerobic dance. It’s good for health as well. We achieved our goals for 2022. In 2023, we will try our best both in education and health."

Members of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, Police Force and Tatmadaw took the security measures throughout the whole event. Music concert, different styles of decorated lights, food stalls and photo booths were also included at the event.
